Marie O’Neil Morse, 93, a long -time resident of North Haven and more recently of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank E. Morse, Jr. Marie was born in West Haven on March 18, 1925 and was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary Brandt O’Neil. She graduated from West Haven High School and worked at Western Electric where she met her future husband. After raising their family and volunteering in local schools, she worked for the North Haven Board of Education. Marie loved crafts, homemaking and her Catholic faith. At Ashlar Village she was an active walker and participant in exercise class and yoga. Marie is survived by her daughter Kathleen Sawtelle and her husband Verne and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brian Morse and brothers John and Thomas O’Neil.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Friday morning at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, has been entrusted with her arrangements.
