Sheila Bohan Grove, 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Yale -New Haven Hospital/ St. Raphael Campus with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter M. Grove. Sheila was born in New Haven on January 1, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sheila O’Connell Bohan. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1955, Hartford Airline Personnel School in 1956, and Stone School of Business in 1957. Sheila started her career at IBM and then moved on to work as Administrative secretary at Jewish Family Service of New Haven. She then spent several years as a Clinical Secretary for Yale New Haven Hospital and staff assistant at Yale University Department of Psychiatry. Sheila ended her career as office manager for Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry in Hamden CT. Sheila was involved in North Haven Politics, Concerned Citizens of North Haven, was a past PTA President, a member and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization (BPW), New Haven Chapter. Sheila loved being with her grandchildren, traveling, playing cards, especially Bridge and Pinnacle. She was also a Boston Red Sox, Green Bay Packers and a UCONN Husky’s Basketball fan. Mother of Eric Grove, Colleen (Gary) Michelson, Glen (Kristin Guerin) Grove and Daren Grove. Grandmother of Kyle Michelson, Ryan Michelson, and Bohan Grove. Sister of Bonnie (Robert) Weber and the late Anne Lillis.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven on Thursday morning to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
