Robert A. Raymond, 91, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale New Haven. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Jeannine Boilard Raymond. Robert was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on December 29, 1925; son of the late Emile and Emma Dube Raymond; received a Bachelor degree in accounting from Providence College and served his country faithfully in the US Army during WWII. Robert had worked for the Southern Connecticut Gas Company for 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching UCONN basketball, domestic and international traveling; was a coin collector and tenor singer where he sang in many churches. Loving father of Lynne (Webster) Smith, Paul (Lisa) Raymond and Gail (Steven) Dadio. Loving grandfather of Ryan and Taylor Smith, Jamie, Morgan and Jack Raymond, Austin and Casey Dadio and Daniel Garfield. Beloved brother of Lorraine Gambino, Theresa Dini and the late Dorothy Tacinelli, Alphonse Raymond, Gertrude Cardone and Claudette Hunt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford on Tuesday morning at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford with military honors. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
