Pasquale “Pat” Puglia, 89, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Raffaella Paolillo Puglia. Pat was born in Faicchio, Province of Benevento, Italy on January 8, 1928 and was the son of the late Michael Puglia and Maria Cappella. He had worked as a mason/contractor for over 50 years until his retirement. Pat enjoyed gardening and canning what he grew, making wine and playing his mandolin. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was a UCONN Girls’ basketball and New York Yankees fan. Father of Michael (Deborah) Puglia and Pasquale (Patty) Puglia, Jr. Grandfather of Michael (Kelly) Puglia, Pasquale (Stacey) Puglia III, Anthony Puglia, Elyse (Andrew) Gaudio and Alyssa Puglia. Great Grandfather of Theresa Rose Puglia and Pasquale Cosino Puglia. Brother-in-law of Dolly Paolillo, Marianna & Walter LeVasseur and the late Vincent Paolillo and Lucy Puglia. Uncle of Maria Laudano, JoAnne (Jeff) Heintz, Lisa Puglia and Linda D’Onofrio. Predeceased by an infant son Pasquale Puglia, Jr. and a brother Salvatore Puglia. His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Friday morning at 10:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
